Culturaltoon - our first event for 20/21!

Have you heard about the event held by ECLIPSE not too long ago?

Yes, we’re talking about the CulturalToon held by ECLIPSE from 28th November until 11th December!

It was a competition held online for ALL UiTM STUDENTS across the country to join. As stated in the poster, the theme for this creative-comics competition is ‘Cultural Mindfulness”. Among the objectives of this competition was to intrigue students to explore cultures inside and outside of our country. Besides that, they were given the opportunity to touch on any issues or situations that involve various aspects of culture. They were also encouraged to use websites and editing apps to create their creative submissions. Last but not least, the biggest aim of this competition was to grab people’s attention to educate themselves about culture - which we hope has been achieved with this article as a proof.

As the students were having a good mid-semester break, we thought it would be a great opportunity for them to take a break from assignments and express their creativity by designing and creating their own comic. It was such a delightful surprise to be getting lots of submissions from students coming from other campuses like UITM Kampus Raub, Pahang and UITM Kampus Arau, Perlis.

This event was conducted by Illya-Wardina, a Part 1 student (and our Proofreader!), alongside her team. Kudos to Illya and the team for making sure this competition has run smoothly and successfully. *clap clap*

The judges had spent their time carefully marking all submissions according to the rubrics template given, and it took the team nearly a week to come up with a list of finalists. Finally, this week 10, the team has decided on the winners and made an official announcement.

We are proud to announce the top 3 winners of CULTURALTOON 2020. *drumroll please*
