Linking through LinkedIn - Connecting & Networking

Brought to you by ECLIPSE, an initiative for all students to dive into the ocean of LinkedIn world through a programme managed by the LG Gazette bureau (YES, us!). This programme was held last Friday with around 170 participants! It started at 11 with our moderator, Sukma Asyura who we could all agree that she handled the opening very well when she introduced the invited speaker.

After a few minutes of introduction, the invited speaker, Nina Sharil Khan started sharing what LinkedIn is all about and why we, as students, should start creating our own account and profile on LinkedIn. The main objectives of this sharing session were to share about why you should choose LinkedIn, what makes LinkedIn different and how to improve our LinkedIn profile. There was also a Q&A session for the students to ask anything regarding LinkedIn. She was very interactive with the audience - asking and answering questions, joking around - which grabbed their attention to stay focused on the talk. Moreover, the students who participated in the programme were also supportive as they responded to the speaker in the chat box. We believe that it was a very effective two-way communication!

The whole programme was fun with the interactions between the speaker and audience, and not to forget the content! It was a very insightful and effective talk as there were a lot of knowledge and tips given by Ms. Nina. From why you should join LinkedIn to what you should do and not do with your own profile - Ms. Nina covered it all! Other than facts and tips, she also gave valuable pieces of advice and one of them was a quote that we have found to be super motivating; ‘How you do anything is how you do everything’ which means when we do something, it reflects on how we do everything. The committee of the programme has reported many positive feedbacks from the participants. “More interested in LinkedIn”, “very useful sharing”, “a lot of positive advice” and many more were written in the report so we are very proud to say that this programme was a success!

The programme ended exactly at the expected time which was around 12:30 PM. The informative session ended with a huge thanks to Ms Nina Sharil Khan, and the blast of attendance and feedback forms for the participants in the comment section. This was a way for the participants to claim their e-Certificates (gotta get that extra credit, gurl). Overall, the programme went smoothly and we are glad that ECLIPSE organised this type of programme because it was so beneficial to not only UiTM students, but also to all students across the country. According to the report, we are proud to say that this programme has achieved its objectives to give out a meaningful, educational, enlightening and interesting session. We hope that this kind of programme can be organised many times more in the near future, to help us students explore more about the real world through multiple talented and knowledgeable speakers.

You missed out on the live session? Worry not! We got your back! Here’s the link to watch the whole session again and again: https://youtu.be/ner0h1UDOQY
