Unveil Your Inner Writer Self!

Have you been feeling hesitant to let people know that you write? Does it jitter you to show off your work? Now! Here is good news for you. LG Gazette is offering you a platform to display your work - with credits to you (unless you wish to be anonymous). We are accepting submissions from LG243 students! Woo!!!

There are four segments you can opt for under “Insights” on our website - Creative, Culture, General and Talk-it-Out. These segments will be rotated weekly - Week 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the month respectively.

Creative, as the name suggests, is a place for you to showcase your creativity in writing. We accept originally written heart-felt poetry and interesting short stories. Oh c’mon, share your piece with us!

Secondly, in order to achieve our mission to be a culturally mindful society, the Culture segment is totally dedicated to culture-themed writings. You can submit your opinions on cultural issues and you may also educate others about culture! (Just be sure to include your sources and no offensive opinions, please!)

The General segment is created for you to tell us things you think we should know. Make it informative or even persuasive, if you want to. Tell us why the earth is round (or flat, in your opinion), enlighten us on what we can do to calm children with tantrums down, or guide us to choose the right book for beginners. Give us all those facts! Similar to Culture, you may write up an opinion, or knowledge piece.

Last but not least, the Talk-it-Out section. The entries for this segment will be published in the last week of the month. Its purpose is to provide you a space to self-reflect on things that have happened to you in that particular month. Leave the negative feelings behind so you can enter the new month with only happy thoughts <3

P.S For Culture and Talk-it-Out, the writing should be in English, with bits of other languages - your mother tongue, your third language etc. if you'd like to (including slangs and dialects).

For the Creative segment, it's all up to you. Any language. Just keep it SFW (appropriate). A provided English translation would be nice!

The General segment should be written fully in English.

If you are interested in submitting to us, do submit the pieces to our email with these details:

Please write ‘SUBMISSION: SEGMENT’ as the subject.

Name: Prince Charming

Pen-name/Pseudonym: Charm (if you have one, or if you would like to stay anonymous)

Group: LG243A0

Contact number : 012XXXXXXX

Segment: Culture [Opinion] (specify whether Knowledge or Opinion for Culture & General)

We also understand that some would like to be completely anonymous (even to us). Therefore, if you wish to email your submission without using your personal email, you may submit using a disposable email (such as the ones from https://anonymousemail.me/). Don’t forget to include your segment and title!

Please note that submissions will be looked through thoroughly before they are published and small editings and corrections will be done if needed.

We hope that everyone will take part in contributing to good reading materials for others. Looking forward and anticipating your pieces, LG243 peeps. Peace out!
